Can you tell I’m excited for you!?
These comics are my passion project—born from a desire to make the world better. I know that might sound like a generic pageant answer, but for me, it’s specific and personal. I want to reach EVERYONE with Consent Comics because I believe EVERYONE deserves safety and power in their decisions—especially when it comes to their body.
As a survivor, I know what it can mean to not have the safety and power Consent Comics aims to offer—and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. So, as I like to say,
“Make the world better by turning your pain into someone else’s power.”
is YOUR power!
And thankfully, it’s become mine too!
In 2007, I graduated with a B.S. in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University (cue the 
“Go U Northwestern…” followed by the collective trailing off of course 
, iykyk). I’ve always wondered why people make the decisions they make and why the world works the way it does, so my concentration was in Social Studies. While I may not have found clear answers to those very big questions, I did walk away with a deep respect for people’s stories and the experiences that shape them. That same mindset is at the heart of Consent Comics.
Additionally, I’m a single mom to three girls and one boy, and grandma to four boys. To help you solve the puzzling age math, two of my daughters are former students I unofficially adopted. My wonderfully unique family—and the deep love we share—are part of what drives me. And watching this next generation grow only strengthens my desire to share Consent Comics with the world.
So, here you go! I hope these comics become as meaningful to you as they are to me.
