Meet Zā
(Pronounced ZAY, rhymes with BAE 😊)
The Story of Zā is almost divine!
Here’s our superhero version of the events that led to the creation of ZĀ

In the beginning there was a girl with an idea to teach consent through comics. That girl was Tiffany Braxton, and though her dream seemed feasible, she had one problem. SHE COULD NOT DRAW.
So, Tiffany posted a job online for an illustrator to draw her comics, keeping the MOST IMPORTANT parts of her idea vague. Feeling a pull toward ONE illustrator—Adilanie Garcia Amos (Addie)—she knew she had to act.
Addie came on with no knowledge that these comics were for teaching consent, but thankfully, she was FULLY on board with the mission. She also didn’t know the most challenging detail of all. Tiffany needed her comic characters to be GENDERLESS!
While some illustrators might bock at such a challenge, Addie simply said, “I’m actually known for creating genderless characters.” Some might call it swag. Others, rizz. But one thing was for sure, it seemed as though something divine was beginning.
Addie quickly came back to the table with some options after Tiffany gave instructions for, “stick people of some sort, or cats.” Yes. CATS. Consent Cats never happened (never) because although Addie’s cat drawings were cute, one character option stood out beyond the rest.
This is the character you know today as ZĀ.
As you can see, ZĀ has transformed from the beginning (as a species often does) but the basics of ZĀ’s form are still there. And most importantly, one critical aspect remains.
Zā can be — and is — just like us!
ZĀ represents our collective humanity by transcending our differences and uniting us for a common mission. That mission is consent and consent is something we should all want.
Because we all want experiences in our lives that reflect love for humanity and respect for the individual. We all want our voices and those of our loved ones to matter. We want to be seen, to be heard, to be respected, to be valued. So, before we get too preachy, understand that ZĀ is part of a simple mission meant to have a substantial impact. And that mission is best encapsulated in this simple truth:
